Turmeric is all the buzz these days and that’s because of its active ingredient, Curcumin. And it’s Curcumin that gives turmeric this gorgeous yellow-green pigment often seen in mustard and curry.  Besides giving color what’s so great about Curcumin?  There are a number of clinical studies (here) where Curcumin is being tested across a wide range of health conditions.  While a number of studies are ongoing, there are indications that Curcumin acts as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. 

Okay, so why does that matter?  Well, our immune system is a very intricate and important biological system that constantly monitors our health and repairs our bodies. Oh by the way, did I mention that 75% of our immune system resides in the gut?
